It’s a tech-driven world. Our aim is to put students in the driver's seat by infusing traditional learning techniques with innovative technology.

1:1 Technology Initiative

Every student deserves access to technology and the opportunities available to those who understand and harness its power. Our 1:1 technology program prepares students to be future ready by using technology in every classroom and placing a device in the hands of every student.

We issue every junior high and high school student a touchscreen Chromebook for use at school and at home. Students in the elementary grades enjoy learning and creating on iPads.

Harmony is our student information system. It is the program that we use to track all student data. Parents will create a Harmony Family Access account to register online, look up grades, see absences, monitor lunch account balances, and more.

We use Canvas as our learning management system. This program allows teachers to connect with and assess students. In Canvas, students can view and complete assignments, take quizzes, manage their class calendars, and more. Parents create a Canvas Parent account and pair with their students to observe student learning.

Digital Citizenship

Decatur County Community Schools understand the privileges and responsibilities of 1:1 technology in the school. Among these is the responsibility to be good digital citizens.

We will practice good digital citizenship by being safe, responsible, and respectful users of technology. Staff and students will use their devices to learn, create, and connect in a manner that protects private information, maintains a positive self-image, treats others with respect, and gives credit to other creators.
