Training Resources
Please take a look at the calendar below for training opportunities, descriptions and resources. All training will start at 3:45pm. If you are unable to attend the training session, but you would still like to learn the material, please let the technology department know and we would be happy to assist you. You can register for any session(s) that you would like to attend by sending an e-mail to Jonathan for SD sessions or Cory for ND sessions. Each training session will have plenty of time for questions and can be tailored to fit the attendees' needs. Also, if you have any suggestions for other sessions please let Jonathan or Cory know.

CPS (clickers) and Interwrite Pad Intro
Description:
- The Mobi is a wireless device that allows you to write on the screen as well use the computer from anywhere in the room and you can even give a Mobi to multiple student to work at the same time on the screen while you manage it from your Mobi.
- The “clickers” are a student response system. You can generate a test in Exam View and allow everyone in the class to answer and see immediate results.

Moodle
Description:
- Moodle is an online classroom management tool. Student can log into Moodle to view resources that their teacher has posted. Students can even submit homework through Moodle. Teachers can also add a discussion board to Moodle or use it as a blog.

Joomla (updating the school's website)
Description:
- Joomla is the tool that we now use to manage each school’s website. Each sport/club/teacher is welcome to have their own page created. We can then show you how to keep your page on your school’s website up to date.

Impress/PowerPoint
Description:
- Impress and PowerPoint allow you to create a slideshow presentation. This can include pictures, videos, audio and of course text. We’ll show you how to add animation and design a professional presentation.

The GIMP/InkScape
- The GIMP and InkScape are image manipulation programs similar to Adobe’s Photoshop, but both are free for anyone to download and use. These can be used to generate images or to modify ones that you already have.

Mail Merge (creating mailings from data lists) in MS Office
- Mail merge is the ultimate way to create envelopes and mailing labels without re-typing everything or copy and pasting. Simply generate a spreadsheet of all of your contacts and Mail Merge will allow you to quickly and easily create form letters and/or mailing labels.

- In this course we will review topics for those that are not overly comfortable with using their computer. We will discuss saving a file and retrieving it later as well as other tasks that users should be familiar with when using a computer.
