Mr. Pratt's Class Interviews Friend of Anne Frank

Hannah Goslar RemembersThey all sit together in a small office room.  They’re watching the clock and waiting for the call.  They all use their imagination and creativity to make questions to ask the caller.  They prepare themselves as the phone begins to ring.  A voice is heard, and the experience of a lifetime has begun.  This is what it feels like to be involved in one of Mr. John Pratt’s phone interviews.  Over the past year, Mr. Pratt of North Decatur has arranged over one hundred phone interviews.  The variety of people interviewed is endless.  One of the most recent phone interviews is a woman that lives in Israel by the name of Hannah Pick-Goslar, Anne Frank’s childhood best friend.  This call was arranged and discovered by Nadav Newman and his father, Patrick Newman, who lives in Israel.  Ms. Goslar answered a variety of questions the students asked.  With the help of Nadav’s translations, Hannah spoke a variety of English and Hebrew.  Talking to Ms. Goslar was a life changing experience.  She gave words of wisdom along with her amazing childhood stories.  She is most definitely a Holocaust Hero and she’ll remain a hero as she continues to share her stories of her youth.
