Decatur County Community Schools in southeast Indiana is a community of learners and educators. Our student-centric schools challenge students with a highly relevant curriculum and provide support for their endeavors and dreams within a safe and caring learning environment. A Message from Our Superintendent

I would like to welcome you to Decatur County Community Schools (DCCS). Our corporation consists of two elementary schools and two junior senior high schools set on each end of the county. Our schools, although distinctive in nature and offerings, partner together to provide a complete and comprehensive education.

At Decatur County schools, we are proud to provide safe and collaborative environments for all students and staff on a daily basis. From our visitor management systems, certified staff, and school resource officers, to the physical renovations all buildings have received, we have four beautiful campuses that our students can take pride in. The staff at DCCS works hard providing our students with high-quality education, curriculum, and programming from our preschool classes, certified early college high school, state-the-art biomedical sciences center, and cyber security labs, to our elementary STEM labs and industrial integration academy. Our teachers can provide the highest quality education to all students on a daily basis.

Decatur County Community Schools offer a wide variety of curricular programs and extracurricular opportunities such as:

  • Indiana college core (early college) up to 30 general education credits that are transferable to any public college or university in Indiana with the opportunity to earn an associates degree
  • Our high schools offer 23 dual credit classes/95 college credits
  • Project Lead The Way-Principles of Engineering/Digital Electronics/Civil Engineering/Architecture/Bio-Medical Sciences/Medical Interventions/Biomedical Innovations/Design and Modeling/Robotics all with state-of-the-art facilities
  • Project Lead The Way-Gateway for junior high students
  • Health careers/full certified nursing assistant program
  • National Honor Society
  • Academic and technical honors
  • FFA program with eight different agra business classes
  • Established agriculture program at both high schools
  • Honors art and music programs
  • Archery
  • Industrial Integration Academy manufacturing program sending students to learn about the workforce at Honda, Batesville Tool and Die, Nipro, and Delta Faucet

Decatur County Community Schools as a district is incredibly proud of the following:

  • 1-1 technology school district
  • 1 of 2 school districts in Indiana certified Level 1 as “Safe and Collaborative” by Marzano Research
  • 1 of 2 school districts in Indiana certified Level 2 as having “Effective Teaching in Every Classroom ” by Marzano Research
  • The only school district in Indiana certified Level 3 as having a “Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum” by Marzano Research
  • Both high schools are US News and World Report Best High Schools in the Nation
